After your child has downloaded the app to their phone, they should open it and enter their phone number or email address. After this they will be asked for their name and date of birth. It is important that the details they enter match those that you originally entered for them when you ordered their Kids Card.
Your child will then be asked if they have a Kids Card – they need to say yes to proceed and create their profile in the Kids app. If they don’t have a Kids Card you will need to order one for them from your own app before they proceed unless.
Then they will be asked to scan a QR code on your phone (you can find this the child’s profile in the Kids Card section of your Account tab.
After scanning the code their app will be linked to yours just as their Kids Card is linked to your account.
Your child then needs to enter their phone number or email address (whichever they didn’t enter at the beginning) and they will receive verification codes they will need to enter.
Then they just need to follow the instructions to:
- receive push notifications (these tell your child what they have spent)
- set a six-digit passcode
- activate face ID or biometrics
- and if they are over 13, they will be asked if they want to set up Apple or Google pay.
Then your child’s home screen will open, and they will be ready to use the app.
