Yes, as you're applying for a financial service, we need to do a basic ID check on you and your address before we can offer you a HyperJar card.

Why your identity verification may be delayed

Identity verification can sometimes get stuck if the documents you uploaded do not meet our requirements or if the details do not match your account. Common reasons include:

  • Your address on the document does not match the address on your account.
  • Your name is spelled differently on your account and your documents.
  • The photo or scan is blurry, cropped, or too dark to read.
  • The document is out of date or not one we can accept.

What documents we usually accept

We usually accept a valid passport, driving licence, or national identity card for ID. For proof of address, we may accept a recent utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill, or similar document showing your name and current address.

Make sure your documents are clear and correct

To help us verify your identity as quickly as possible:

  • Use a document that is valid and not expired.
  • Make sure all four corners of the document are visible.
  • Check that the image is clear, well lit, and easy to read.
  • Make sure the name and address match your account details.
  • If you are asked to upload a selfie or take a live photo, follow the on-screen instructions carefully.

How long verification usually takes

In most cases, identity verification is completed quickly. Sometimes it can take longer if we need more information from you.

What to do if you're still waiting

If your account is still stuck on the identity verification stage after 72 hours, please contact our support team and we'll help you check what is happening.
